ClimateIQ Releases Technical Report

After two years of development, the ClimateIQ team has released its first technical report, showcasing how the platform is advancing climate hazard assessment for cities worldwide.

ClimateIQ combines physics-based simulations and machine learning to deliver hyperlocal data on flooding and extreme heat at resolutions down to 10 meters. The new report provides a synthesis of the project’s technical approach, progress to date, and future directions — from scaling hazard models to building a public-facing dashboard that supports planners, emergency managers, and community organizations.

Developed by the Urban Systems Lab at NYU with partners including George Mason University, Google.org, and a global advisory network, ClimateIQ is designed to make next-generation climate risk data open and accessible, especially for under-resourced communities on the frontlines of climate change.
